A year after the release of their third consecutive top 10 Billboard single Immortal, The Cruxshadows are showing once again why they are an international leader in dark electronic music. Their new single Quicksilver is a hard hitting, dance floor dominating track with thought provoking lyrical depth, compelling melodies, and a chorus that will stay with you long after the music ends.
The Cruxshadows bring their signature blending of punchy guitar, counterpoint violins, and synthesizer based textures together with words that tie the music to your world. Quicksilver contains 3 versions of the title track, as well as two additional new songs – “Avalanche” and “Roland”.
This is the first single released by the band’s newly formed label, Wishfire Records. It was established to give the band the freedom they needed to furfill their unique artistic vision. As The Cruxshadows vocalist and founder of Wishfire Records, Rogue comments:
"So much has changed in the music industry in the last few years. Bands like Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails created a new paradigm that has forever altered things. Its now possible for us to reach our audience as never before, and still eliminate some of the difficulties associated with the traditional artist to label recipe. We are able to assume control of our own artistic direction. I think we are better able to understand and fulfill our potential as artists. Its streamlines the system and puts power back in the hands of those that created the music."

Their Quicksilver Tour started in Europe in August and highlights included an outdoor performance at Germany's Mera Luna Festival, as well as the Dutch Summer Darkness Festival. Their upcoming shows in support of their new single will take them to the USA, South America, and back to Europe. So much of what the band does live is completely unique. With two electric violin players and trained ballerinas executing fully choreographed dancing, their live performances seems to be a bit like a three ring circus.
Ringleader and original founding member Rogue believes that a major part of the bands popularity is the bands connection to their fans, and their outstanding live show. This year the band has been nominated for consideration in the prestigious LEA (Live Entertainment Awards) in Germany for best live performing indie band in Europe, (http://www.lea-2009.de )
The Cruxshadows have also unveiled a new guitar player in Cassandra Luger, as well as some exciting change ups in the dancer department.
