Award Winning Horror Writer / Director Jake Kennedy to release PENANCE on November 17

IMD Films and MVD Visual are proud to announce the DVD release of PENANCE on November 17, 2009.

Based on a true character, and from the award winning horror writer/director Jake Kennedy (Days of Darkness), and Will Clevinger (producer of the indie horror hit Automaton Transfusion), PENANCE stars Marieh Delfino (Jeepers Creepers 2) as a stripper who falls into the hands of sadistic surgeon (Graham McTavish) with genital mutilation on his mind.

Previously titled The Devil’s Dungeon and filmed in 2008 in Los Angeles, PENANCE is the tale of a young, demure single mother, Amelia (Delfino), who hits upon hard times and decides to take her future into her own hands and becomes a stripper. Everything is going well until Suzy, her stripper friend, is beaten up on a job and recruits Amelia to take her place. Reluctantly, Amelia takes the job, only to find the job isn't everything it seems. Driven to a strange location by a dark and mysterious man (Tony Todd), and confronted by a grizzled hit man (Michael Rooker), Amelia's world is turned upside down, as her captor (the mind bending McTavish), is intent on one thing and one thing only - to purify Amelia and the other women in his incarceration.

The cast additionally includes horror vets Eve Mauro (Wicked Lane), Tracy Coogan (Zombie Honeymoon), Garrett Jones (Automaton Transfusion), Alone In The Dark II and Bloodwars co-stars Jason Connery and Allison Lange (Single White Female II), and James Duval (May, Donnie Darko).

In a 2009 interview with Fangoria, director Jake Kennedy states:

“The title changed from The Devil’s Dungeon to Penance since we believe it has far exceeded our own quality standards in terms of cast, performance and look. We wanted to steer away from a B-movie-esque moniker and more toward a cooler, more representative name. Penance means ‘the repentance of one’s sins,’ and that’s exactly what our bad guy is trying to do—and what he’s trying to make our heroine do against her will. So ‘penance’ sums up the film perfectly. This new trailer now represents the new movie: cooler, meaner, bloodier and sexier. Be warned: This is an R-level trailer and includes gratuitous sexual imagery, bad language and extreme violence.”

The Cruxshadows Announce New Single "Quicksilver" On Band’s Own Label Wishfire Records

A year after the release of their third consecutive top 10 Billboard single Immortal, The Cruxshadows are showing once again why they are an international leader in dark electronic music. Their new single Quicksilver is a hard hitting, dance floor dominating track with thought provoking lyrical depth, compelling melodies, and a chorus that will stay with you long after the music ends.

The Cruxshadows bring their signature blending of punchy guitar, counterpoint violins, and synthesizer based textures together with words that tie the music to your world. Quicksilver contains 3 versions of the title track, as well as two additional new songs – “Avalanche” and “Roland”.

This is the first single released by the band’s newly formed label, Wishfire Records. It was established to give the band the freedom they needed to furfill their unique artistic vision. As The Cruxshadows vocalist and founder of Wishfire Records, Rogue comments:

"So much has changed in the music industry in the last few years. Bands like Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails created a new paradigm that has forever altered things. Its now possible for us to reach our audience as never before, and still eliminate some of the difficulties associated with the traditional artist to label recipe. We are able to assume control of our own artistic direction. I think we are better able to understand and fulfill our potential as artists. Its streamlines the system and puts power back in the hands of those that created the music."

Their Quicksilver Tour started in Europe in August and highlights included an outdoor performance at Germany's Mera Luna Festival, as well as the Dutch Summer Darkness Festival. Their upcoming shows in support of their new single will take them to the USA, South America, and back to Europe. So much of what the band does live is completely unique. With two electric violin players and trained ballerinas executing fully choreographed dancing, their live performances seems to be a bit like a three ring circus.

Ringleader and original founding member Rogue believes that a major part of the bands popularity is the bands connection to their fans, and their outstanding live show. This year the band has been nominated for consideration in the prestigious LEA (Live Entertainment Awards) in Germany for best live performing indie band in Europe, (http://www.lea-2009.de )

The Cruxshadows
have also unveiled a new guitar player in Cassandra Luger, as well as some exciting change ups in the dancer department.

Dwarves Limited-Edition Figure Released By Aggronautix, Animated PSA Created

Aggronautix is releasing a limited-edition figure of punk rock legends the Dwarves (1000 numbered). This unique double "Throbblehead" figure stands at 5 1/2 inches tall, is made of a lightweight polyresin, and will be displayed in a tri-windowed box. Here Blag the Ripper and HeWhoCanNotBeNamed are portrayed dominating the stage and are accurately sculpted right down to the lucha libre mask, bondage wear, and skull boner buckle.

Dwarves Throbblehead (Front)The figure will be distributed by MVD Entertainment Group - a company specializing in music-related distribution since 1986 - and DKE Toys - a wholesale distributor of urban / vinyl / designer art / objects / toys / figurines.

The Dwarves are the third punk personality to be polyresinated by Aggronautix. In May of 2009, both a Tesco Vee figure (limited to 1000) and a highly popular GG Allin "1991" figure (limited to 2000 and nearly sold out) were released with the company's inception.

Today, Aggronautix continues the tradition of molding trouble-making punk rockers with the Dwarves. As a purveyor of pure carnage and fun, Blag Dahlia was instantly amused by the idea of becoming an effigy.

"Me and HeWhoCanNotBeNamed are the best looking men in show business," said Blag. "It was only fitting that we be immortalized in space age polymer to frighten parents and tittilate teenage girls everywhere!"

PSA Still - Blag and HeWhoThe fun continues with the "Dwarves PSA", an animated short produced by Postage, Inc. for Aggronautix:

Art Director Joseph Krzemienski, Executive
Producer Allen Clements and world renowned
Comic Book Artist Jeff McComsey worked
exclusively on "Dwarves PSA". Clements comments:

"This project was kind of a throwback. Coming from a traditional mindset, we had to develop new techniques to deliver an old style... Something reminiscent of 80s / 90s Saturday morning cartoons. We immediately thought of the GI Joe PSAs at the end of each program, and teaching right from wrong from the wise words of a hero. How many punk rock kids have heroes? Who are they?"

All Aggronautix figures are now available for
purchase on www.aggronautix.com or www.seeofsound.com and will also be available at many independent retailers, comic shops, tattoo parlors, and Walmart (just kidding).

Nick Oliveri Set To Release "Death Acoustic"

From Kyuss to Queens of the Stone Age to Mondo Generator to Solo Effort

Impedance and MVD Audio are pleased to announce the release of Nick Oliveri - Death Acoustic for North American distribution on October 6, 2009.

You may know him as the long haired bass player on the early Kyuss albums or as the mysterious Rex Everything in The Dwarves. Others will know him as one of the creative partners behind Queens Of The Stone Age and more recently the screaming front man of Mondo Generator. He is of course, Nick Oliveri... A man that should need no introduction to rock fans across the world.

Starting his musical career as a teenager with some friends from Palm Desert, California, Oliveri played bass and wrote a number of songs on the first two albums of desert rock pioneers Kyuss. The band would go on to establish them as a cult band worldwide and ensure high interest in all the members' future projects.

One of those projects became Oliveri's most successful commercial venture; it was of course Queens Of The Stone Age. Alongside song writing partner Josh Homme, Oliveri played on and co-wrote the bands two most critically acclaimed and successful albums Rated R and Songs For The Deaf.

After a split with the band in 2004, he focused his energies on his own band Mondo Generator, while also being a part time member of The Dwarves and playing bass in the very occasional band Moistboyz alongside members of Ween and Butthole Surfers. Soon enough, he will also be a featured guest on the forthcoming solo album of Slash.

Throughout his career delivering audiences wild and loud rock shows with the aforementioned bands, Oliveri has found time to play intimate, solo acoustic shows. Just him and his guitar, blending songs he has written for the bands he has played in, specifically written songs for the solo shows, and well chosen covers. In this format he has further showcased what a great songwriter and musician he is.

Death Acoustic is the result of these efforts; Oliveri spent the last twelve months in his home studio recording tracks for his solo album. In October it is unleashed with touring to back it up across the world over the last few months of this year and into next year.

Track Listing: Start a Fight, Like the Sky, Dairy Queen, Gonna Leave You, Love Has Passed Me By, U Blow, Hybrid Moments, Unless I Can Kill, Follow Me, Outlaw Scumfuc
